🍃 I became a medical cannabis patient at the age of 20, 7 years after my diagnosis of Juvenile-onset Idiopathic Rheumatoid Arthritis. It was within 2 years of a diagnosis of Depression and Anxiety, as well. I was living in Ohio at the time and struggling deeply. Trying to juggle my personal load had come to include not just the basic pressures of growth that comes at that age but my headstrong additions of college as an overachiever and a difficult relationship that I felt very seriously about plus consistently crushing realizations about the increasing severity of my chronic pain condition.
The day that I despairingly drove away in the rain from my doctor’s office, readying myself to fill an antidepressant prescription, praying profusely for guidance, was the very same day that my soul decided I must give myself the education and chance to try cannabis medication for all of my ailments instead.
It was many months until I felt I had the proper scientific understanding and until I had the proper support system to give it a go. My first bong rip began me on my roller coaster towards a healing journey I never would have imagined. Nearly a decade later, now a legal patient in California for many years I can confidently tell you that it has changed my life not only for the better but also completely.

Oh, and leave your assumptions at the door, please. A high is not always possible or necessary with many ailments, preventative measures, nor therapies that cannabis medicines may be used for. I look forward to sharing with you all of the incredible things that I have learned and am continuing to learn about this naturally healing plant!
